New version 4.3

Affected parts:

New

  • myinside.abox42.com: We have added a new section called OP-SLATracker which is a service by the “Zattoo & ABOX42 IPTV product” which supports the collection of data in behalf of the Network and IPTV SLA. We derived, that the SLAs are essential to control the consumer experience of a service. As the Operator is responsible for the SLAs, the Operator is also responsible to measure, collect & control the SLA (“Field QA”). As far the Operator is not able to execute the “Field QA” by himself, he will be looking for a 3rd party. That's the motivation to develop ”OP-SLATracker” by Zattoo & ABOX42.

Added "OP-SLATracker Catalogue" v0.4

In this section you will find the first SLA items for IPTV and Network with the following properties: OP-SLATracker ID, type, Guaranteed Properties, etc. Also these SLAs can be seen into action, for this please check the new section under Project named OP-SLATracker in action where we have for each SLA type a separate project and inside these projects the SLA items are structured as separate chapters with instructions, documentation, application example, API references and Specification references. There we explain in details how you as Operator can track these SLAs using the API's and tools provided by the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box Platform.

Updated "API" section

  • Added JS-API v0.4.76 [added tv2next.mrcmon.wifi class, updated tv2_stb_common and tv2_stb_tuner]

Added "Collect Log" v0.1

In this project example we show how to collect the system log files from the App level on the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box and push them to a remote server. This is the first step towards creating a full reporting and analytics web service which provides insights about the Smart Set-Top Boxes on the Field. Using this approach we can extend to collect other useful information such as the memory consumption, cpu usage and other system metrics.

New version 4.1

Affected parts:

New

We have added a new section which will help speed up your development with the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box Platform and also provide you a better way for testing your web applications directly from myinside with less effort possible. This new section is called "Tools" and for now we have added three main tools which are:

  • Source Code: This is a tool you can use to upload and run your own HTML or PHP file(s) on the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box local webserver (lighttpd). Note that the files can be uploaded only on the mentioned absolute path (you need to only paste the content and modify the filename from index.html to whatever you want).
  • View on Box: This is a tool which you can use to open and run your own web application on your ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box, play audio/video content, get the url on the active tab or get the stream url of the media being played. This tool helps in making your development faster and debugging easier. When you play the media content you will also notice that it has a UI with information regarding the stream being played and you can also use your RCU to control the different settings of the stream being played.
  • Virtual RCU: This is a tool you can use to control your ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box from your web browser. This Virtual RCU supports only the keys required for the navigation and also to control the media player in a very basic level but useful. You just need to click on the keys presented in the UI with mouse and they will be executed immediately on the Smart Set-Top Box. Note that once clicked on a key it will stay pressed in the UI to let you know which was the last key pressed.

Later on we will provide more tools which will help speeding up your development and testing of web applications for the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box Platform.

Added "One FSI 4 All" v0.1

In this project we show how to change the branding resources (splash screen, volume bar) of the platform from the application level with minimal dependencies to the ABOX42 Smart Set-Top Box Platform. In this example we explain in details the workflow and also the components required and how they interact with each other.

Updated "Swipe to TV" to v0.2

In the new version of this project we show how to use another way for the data exchange between the first screen application and the second screen application which offers faster swiping times. We also explain the different pitfalls and how to avoid them with the least effort possible from your side.

Updated "RCU key mapping" to v0.3

In the new version of this project we have added the new RCU X12 UDB which is the latest in the list of supported RCU's by the ABOX42 M30 Platform. Using this project you can check and test all the key mapping by just selecting the RCU's from the screen and testing the key mapping directly from your RCU (which should be present on the list of available RCU's).
